VIVIAN is drawn to design that responds thoughtfully to people, communities, and place. Growing up in Melaka, Malaysia - a heritage city shaped by layered histories and diverse cultures - sparked an early appreciation for how the built environment can express identity, preserve connections to place, and foster a sense of belonging.

With nearly nine years of practice in Vancouver, Vivian has contributed to a diverse range of project types and scales, from mixed-use developments and social housing to institutional and community-focused projects. Her experience delivering complex residential projects across Metro Vancouver has shaped her ability to lead design coordination, collaborate with consultants and clients, and navigate technical challenges throughout the project delivery process.

More recently, Vivian has contributed to feasibility studies for remote Indigenous communities, gaining deeper insight into how architecture can support diverse aspirations while balancing technical requirements, funding considerations, and practical constraints. These experiences have strengthened her ability to listen, collaborate, and develop thoughtful design strategies within complex and evolving contexts.

Vivian holds a Bachelor of Environment Design from the University of Manitoba and Masters of Architecture from the University of British Columbia. Her academic background explored architecture alongside urban design, landscape ecology, and placemaking, providing an interdisciplinary foundation that continues to inform her approach to the relationships between buildings, landscapes, and the broader systems that shape how places are formed, experienced, and connected.
